Oman and Austria hold political talks

The second round of political consultations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Austria took place today at the headquarters of the Austrian Foreign Ministry in the capital, Vienna.

The Omani side was led by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs, while the Austrian side was led by Gregor Kösssler, Director General of Political Affairs at the Austrian Federal Foreign Ministry .

The consultations covered relations between the two countries, stressing the keenness of the both sides to continue developing them in various fields. There was also an exchange of views and consultation on regional and international issues of common concern.

The consultations were attended by Yousuf Ahmed Aljabri, Oman's Ambassador to Austria and officials from both foreign ministries.

During his visit to Vienna, Sheikh Khalifa also met with Alexander Schallenberg, Austrian Federal Foreign Minister and Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal, Secretary General of the Austrian Foreign Ministry, to discuss cooperation between the two friendly countries and ways of enhancing such cooperation to serve their mutual interest. There was also an exchange of views on issues of common interest.
