Foreign Minister meets Indian External Affairs Minister

Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister of Oman, met with Dr S Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India.

The meeting took place during Sayyid Badr's visit to the Indian capital, New Delhi, to participate in the meetings of the G20 foreign ministers and the Raisina Dialogue Conference.

During the meeting, the two sides affirmed the keenness of the governments of the two countries to enhance the existing cooperation between them in various fields, especially with regard to economic, trade and joint investment cooperation, as well as the continuation of consultations between them and the exchange of knowledge and experience. The two sides also discussed a number of developments and issues in the regional and international arenas.

Sayyid Badr expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Indian side for inviting the Sultanate of Oman to participate as a guest of honour in the G20 meetings, reflecting the depth of relations between the two friendly countries.

For his part, Dr Jaishankar expressed his deep appreciation for Oman's constructive contributions to the various G20 meetings and what Oman offers in terms of positive enrichment of the discussions that take place in the search for global consensus on the issues and challenges facing the world.

The meeting was attended by Issa bin Saleh Alshibani, Oman's Ambassador to  India; Pankaj Khimji, Adviser for Foreign Trade and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and the main coordinator of Oman’s participation in the G20 meetings; Ambassador Khalid Almuslahi, Head of the Minister’s Office, and a number officials from both sides.
