Message from the Ambassador
Dear visitor,
We are pleased to welcome you to the official webpage of the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Khartoum, capital of the sister Republic of Sudan.
The Embassy works in cooperation with the Omani Foreign Ministry in Muscat in accordance with the principles guiding Oman’s foreign policy as set out in the Basic Statute of the State and the Law Organising the Foreign Ministry.
These policy principles include “the strengthening of bonds of cooperation and the affirmation of bonds of friendship with all countries and peoples on the basis of mutual respect, common interest and non-interference in internal affairs.”
The principles also demand observance of international and regional charters and treaties and the generally recognised rules of international law, in a way that promotes peace and security among states and peoples.
The Embassy is also working on introducing “Oman Vision 2040” by implementing a policy of economic diplomacy to promote the Oman as a destination for investment and tourism.
Ali bin Sulaiman Aldarmaki
Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of the Sudan
Bilateral relations
The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Sudan have had diplomatic relations at the level of resident ambassadors since 1977.
There is a memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries in the field of political consultation, through which the two countries work to consult on political issues of common interest.
There is a common interest on the part of the two sides to extend their relations to ever wider fields. Oman stands with Sudan's just issues in regional and international forums.
The two countries exchange views and support each other when nominating candidates from their countries in regional and international organisations and bodies.
The two countries are bound by many agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) in the commercial, economic, scientific, cultural, health and judicial fields. (See list below)
These agreements and memoranda of understanding aim to create an appropriate environment for strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
Consular services
The Embassy works to take care of the affairs and interests of Omani citizens in Sudan and to address their issues.
It also provides a range of consular services to Omani citizens residing or visiting Sudan, as well as to Omani and Sudanese companies to facilitate their affairs and help them to achieve their goals quickly and easily.
