Oman Foreign Minister meets State Secretary at German Foreign Ministry
Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, met today with Andreas Michaelis, State Secretary at the German Foreign Ministry, as part of the official visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the Federal Republic of Germany.
The meeting dealt with the growing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and reviewed existing cooperation in various fields. The two sides stressed the importance of the visit of His Majesty to Germany and how it represented the start of a new era in relations between the two countries. They also agreed on their joint aspiration to achieve more in terms of cooperation and partnership, especially in the economic and investment fields, and in the field of renewable and green energy, as well as scientific and cultural cooperation.
They also exchanged views on a number of topics and developments on the regional and international arenas, stressing the importance of dialogue and diplomatic methods to address differences and conflicts in the world in order to achieve peace and stability.
The meeting was attended on the Omani side by Ambassador Khalid Almuslahi, Head of the Minister's Office Department. On the German side the meeting was attended by Thomas Schneider, German Ambassador to the Sultanate and Ambassador Thørven Bellmann, Political Director at the German Foreign Ministry and Head of the German delegation to the negotiations on the Iran nuclear agreement known as the the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
