Oman affirms keenness to integrate sustainable development dimensions

The Sultanate of Oman has affirmed its keenness to integrate the dimensions and goals of sustainable development into its development strategies and plans, and to allocate budgets to ensure their achievement in the medium and long term.

This was the key message of a speech delivered by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Diplomatic Affairs, to the ministerial meeting of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, which concludes today at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

In his speech, the Diplomatic Undersecretary explained that the goals and objectives of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development have become an important component of the Oman 2040 vision. He also stressed the importance of concerted international efforts to overcome the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the importance of working towards achieving the desired sustainability goals by the year 2030.
