Foreign Minister receives Iranian Foreign Ministry Undersecretary

Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, received Dr Ali Bagheri, Undersecretary for Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who is the chief negotiator for Iran on nuclear issues.

The two sides discussed the existing cooperation between the two friendly countries and consulted on a number of regional and international issues of common interest.

They focussed in particular on the developments in talks to return to the nuclear agreement known as the “Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action” (JCPOA), stressing its importance to achieving security and stability in the region.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Diplomatic Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry of Oman, Ambassador Khalid bin Almuslahi, Head of the Minister's Office Department and a number of Foreign Ministry officials. The meeting was also attended by Ali Najafi Khoshroudi, Iranian ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman and the delegation accompanying the Iranian guest.
