Oman and EU hold political consultations

A third round of political consultations was held in Muscat today between the Foreign Ministry and the European External Action Service (EEAS) of the European Union (EU).

The Omani side was headed by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Diplomatic Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry and the EU side by Enrique Mora, Deputy Secretary General and Political Director of the EEAS.

The discussions covered bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the EU and ways to develop them to serve the joint interests of the two sides.

The two sides also discussed measures aimed at achieving the exemption of citizens of the Sultanate of Oman from the Schengen visa.

They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common concern.
