His Majesty the Sultan arrives in Doha on State Visit
His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik arrived in Doha today on a two-day state visit to the State of Qatar.
Upon His Majesty's arrival at Doha International Airport, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar led the welcoming party, which included Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, Deputy Emir of Qatar; Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Personal Representative of the Emir; Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC); Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani; Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Attiyah, Minister of State (Head of the Mission of Honour); Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Chief of the Emiri Diwan and Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Ambassador of Qatar to Oman.
When the Royal Jet entered the airspace of Qatar, it was escorted by warplanes from the Qatari Air Defence Force.
After a short rest at the Reception Hall, His Majesty the Sultan, accompanied by the Emir of Qatar joined a motorcade that took them to the Emiri Diwan. There, His Majesty the Sultan was accorded an official welcome. This began with the vehicle carrying His Majesty the Sultan and Sheikh Tamim entering the yard, flanked by a cavalcade and a camel parade that had lined both sides of the street to welcome His Majesty the Sultan.
As soon as the motorcade arrived, Sheikh Tamim escorted His Majesty the Sultan to the Dais, where the Royal Anthem of Oman and the Qatari National Anthem were played. Then, His Majesty the Sultan inspected the honour guard which saluted him.
Then, His Majesty the Sultan received members of the Qatari welcoming party and exchanged greetings with them, while the Emir of Qatar received the members of the official delegation accompanying His Majesty the Sultan.
