Oman and Russia hold political talks
Oman and the Russian Federation held political consultations in Moscow. They reviewed areas of cooperation in various fields including mutual visits and participation in events held in both countries. Oman was the chief guest at the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum this month.
Oman's delegation was headed by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs. Russia was represented by Mikhail Bogdanov, Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa.
They exchanged views on a number of regional and international matters most notably the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and the Ukrainian issue.
Sheikh Khalifa also met Alexander Yakovenko, Rector of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry, at the academy’s headquarters. Cooperation in the field of diplomatic training was discussed.
Oman's delegation included Ambassador Munther bin Mahfouz Al Mandhari, Head of the Foreign Ministry's Europe Department, and Oman's Ambassador to Russia, Hamood bin Salim bin Abdullah Altowaiya.
