His Majesty the Sultan visits Al Bayt Stadium in Qatar

His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik visited Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor City, Qatar today. Al Bayt Stadium is one of the venues that will host matches for the World Cup 2022. The visit comes as part of His Majesty the Sultan’s state visit to Qatar.

Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, led the welcoming party that received His Majesty the Sultan at the stadium.

His Majesty and Sheikh Tamim toured the stadium which mirrors all the grounds that will host FIFA World Cup 2022 matches in Qatar. His Majesty the Sultan listened to a briefing about Al Bayt Stadium whose features are inspired by the design of an Arabian tent, while at the same time reflecting international design.

His Majesty commended the unique design of the edifice and its facilities, noting that the Al Bayt Stadium demonstrates Qatar’s ability to present an exceptional model for hosting such a global sports event.

His Majesty the Sultan was accompanied during the visit by the head and members of the mission of honour and the Omani official delegation.
