Russian tour operators explore Oman's tourism and heritage attractions

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in Muscat held an introductory meeting with a delegation from the Russian Federation representing 54 Russian tourism companies.

The visit aims to highlight developments in Oman's tourism sector and explore ways to strengthen cooperation between the two friendly countries in this field.

Saada Alharthi, Director of the Tourism Markets Development Department at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, said that the visit by the Russian companies is part of the Ministry's promotional efforts to attract Russian tourists from and promote travel to Oman.

Yurievich Kobishchanov Taras, CEO of Russia Express, said that Oman is one of the tourism markets that attract Russian tourists due to its diverse landscapes, especially its beautiful beaches.

He added that the new mutual visa exemption agreement between the two countries will help increase the number of tourists between the two friendly nations.

More than 44,000 tourists from Russia visited Oman in 2024.

The Ministry has opened a tourism office in the Russian Federation, which began operating in the last quarter of 2024.

The delegation’s visit also includes the annual conference of Russian tourism  companies, which which support Oman's position as an attractive destination for hosting events in the conferences and exhibitions sector from the Russian market.
