Speech of the Sultanate of Oman at the 45th Gulf Summit
Edited speech of the Sultanate of Oman to the 45th Summit of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Leaders, held in Kuwait on December 1, 2024, delivered by His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers and Head of the Omani Delegation.
“I am pleased to express to you the greetings of His Majesty the Sultan and his best wishes for the success of this summit.
“We are also pleased to take this opportunity to express our sincere congratulations to His Highness the Emir of the sisterly State of Kuwait on assuming the presidency of the current session of the Supreme Council, expressing our appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality, and wishing the current session of the Council success and fulfilment.
“We cannot miss here to express our thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Emir of the sisterly State of Qatar for the distinguished and successful management of the 44th session of the Supreme Council of the Leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council States.
“The regular holding of these meetings increases cohesion among the people of the GCC countries and enhances the position of the Council in the international community, its ability to address common challenges, and achieve further progress and prosperity for all its countries.
“We in the Sultanate of Oman affirm our determination to continue joint efforts in all areas of cooperation to achieve security and stability in our region and positive interaction with current issues.
“On this occasion, we extend our thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the Secretary-General and the work team at the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf for the good preparation for this summit, wishing you success and permanent guidance, God willing, to achieve the aspirations of the Council’s leadership for a better future.
“May the peace, mercy and blessings of God be upon you.”
