Oman to host Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds
Under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports, and Youth, the Sultanate of Oman is to host the annual meeting of the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds,
The meeting will welcome representatives from more than 50 sovereign funds from 46 countries.
The meeting is being organised by the Oman Investment Authority, which will represent Oman at the event which starts tomorrow (Monday).
The meeting will be accompanied by a conference that will discuss the latest global trends in the investment sector, covering topics such as energy transition, artificial intelligence, supply chains, and governance, as well as the social dimension of investment.
This will be the largest conference in the Forum’s 15 year history, featuring notable speakers such as Yan Liu, Chief Legal Adviser at the International Monetary Fund; American businessman Robert F Smith; Antonio Gracias, CEO of Valor, and Eion Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla.
The total wealth of the forum's member sovereign wealth funds amounts to eight trillion US dollars, representing 80 percent of the assets of all sovereign wealth funds globally.
The Oman Investment Authority joined the forum as an observer at its founding in 2009 and gained full membership in March 2015.
