Oman participates in extraordinary session of Ministerial Council of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation

The Sultanate of Oman took part in an extraordinary session of the Ministerial Council of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to discuss the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.

The Omani delegation to the extraordinary session held in Islamabad, was headed by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Diplomatic Affairs.

In a speech, the Undersecretary said: “Afghan people deserve to be supported at this delicate political juncture”.

He added that Oman is working hand-in-hand with other members of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to find the best ways to help Afghanistan and its people. He said Oman is backing all measures undertaken by the OIC to handle the situation.
