Virtual meeting to enhance Oman's economic diplomacy

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, in collaboration with the Foreign Ministry, held a virtual meeting with heads of Oman's diplomatic missions abroad as part of a joint effort to advance economic diplomacy.

The meeting aimed to activate economic diplomacy by fostering partnerships and integration with all Omani Embassies abroad to promote investment and develop Omani exports in global markets.

It also sought to enable Omani Embassies to register companies and potential investors and provide them with necessary services through the Invest in Oman Lounge by linking them to the investor services system on the Invest in Oman electronic platform.

The Invest in Oman team showcased investment projects, opportunities and promising sectors. They also presented the services of the Invest in Oman Lounge, efforts to implement an integrated programme to enhance Omani exports, and key achievements realised so far.

The meeting highlighted areas of integration and partnership, activating cooperation mechanisms to unify efforts and maximise achievements. This includes increasing foreign direct investment, growing Omani exports, opening new markets for Omani products, enhancing economic diversification, supporting non-oil sectors, and strengthening Oman's position as a major commercial and investment hub on the world map.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry for Investment Promotion underscored the critical role of Ambassadors in promoting investment opportunities to international business communities, attracting foreign direct investment to the Sultanate and facilitating the entry of Omani exports into foreign markets. These efforts align with Oman Vision 2040's objectives to build a diversified and sustainable economy.

The Ambassadors commended Oman's efforts to promote investment opportunities, improve the business environment and simplify procedures for investors. They expressed their eagerness to enhance cooperation and explore more investment opportunities in various promising sectors.
