Oman's GDP rises 1.7%
Oman's GDP at constant prices recorded a 1.7% increase by the end of the first quarter of 2024, reaching 9.54 billion Omani Rials, compared to 9.37 billion Omani Rials during the same period in 2023.
Preliminary data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information indicate that crude oil activities stood at 2.55 billion Omani Rials, a decrease of 3.3%, while natural gas activities increased by 3%, to 437.1 million Omani Rials.
The data also show that non-oil activities rose by 4.5%, amounting to 6.80 billion Omani Rials by the end of the first quarter of 2024, compared to 6.51 billion Omani Rials at the end of the same quarter in 2023.
Industrial activities amounted to 1.99 billion Omani Rials by the end of the first quarter of this year, compared to 1.88 billion Omani Rials at the end of the first quarter of 2023. Agricultural, forestry and fishing activities registered 219 million Omani Rials, while service activities amounted to 4.60 billion Omani Rials.
