Oman at meeting of Islamic Foreign Ministers
The Sultanate of Oman took part in a preparatory meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
The meeting was held today in Riyadh with a number of foreign ministers of Islamic countries and Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation taking part.
The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation to the meeting was headed by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs.
The meeting discussed the brutal and unprecedented Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip, which aims to kill civilians and destroy infrastructure, housing, hospitals, schools and mosques, and imposes a stifling siege on the Strip, preventing food, medicine, water and fuel teaching the people of Gaza.
The meeting agreed that these constitute war crimes against humanity and represents genocide and that this should be added to the draft final statement that will be presented for approval during the eighth extraordinary Islamic summit, which will be held tomorrow (Saturday) in Riyadh. in the presence of the Leaders and Heads of Government of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation countries
This exceptional Islamic summit is being held at the request of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the current chair, in response to the dangerous developments taking place in the occupied Palestinian territories, especially the Gaza Strip.
The aim is to agree on a joint Islamic position and plan of action action regarding the ongoing Israeli aggression and the deteriorating humanitarian situation as a result of war crimes and brutal massacres carried out by the occupation forces against defenceless children of the Palestinian people.
