Foreign Ministry organises diplomatic charity market
Oman's Foreign Ministry and the Diplomatic Club, held a diplomatic charity market.
The market took place at the Diplomatic Club in cooperation with foreign embassies in the Sultanate of Oman and the Al Rahma Association for Mother and Childhood.
The aim of the charity market, held under the slogan “Be the reason for their joy,” was to raise funds for the Al Rahma Association. It also aimed to highlight social solidarity between individuals and institutions to contribute to supporting families, owners of medium and small enterprises and entrepreneurs.
The market witnessed wide participation from the embassies of foreign countries in the Sultanate of Oman, keen to share their cultures, traditions and products. Each embassy was allocated a stand to display products and handicrafts reflecting the cultural heritage of their home country.
Speaking at the event, First Secretary Duaa bint Abdullah Al Amriya, a member of the Diplomatic Club, said the aim of the event was to achieve a noble humanitarian goal.
Sana bint Abdul Rahman Al Khanjariya, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Al Rahma Association, told the Oman News Agency that the proceeds from the Diplomatic Charity Market will be allocated to finance relief programmes provided by the Society to help the needy.
She said that the Association has many cases registered with it from needy families against whom various implementation rulings have been issued. The proceeds from the market will be allocated to help them and relieve their distress, she added, praising the establishment of such initiatives to serve the community.
The opening of the charity market, which was the first such event, was hosted by Khalid Almuslahi, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs.
