Netherlands : Embassy celebrates National Day
The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of the Netherlands celebrated the 53rd National Day with Dr Abdullah bin Salem bin Hamad Alharthy, Oman's Ambassador to the Netherlands, hosting a reception in the Hague.
In his speech the Ambassador praised the strong relations and cooperation between Oman and the Netherlands, which he said continue to develop in the political, economic and cultural fields, especially with regard to hydrogen energy.
The Ambassador spoke of the recent visit of the Dutch Football Team to Oman and of the Omani Village in the city of Nijmegen, where visitors learn about the archaeological monuments, architecture and culture of Oman.
The ceremony was attended by Eric Vervall, Secretary-General of the Royal Palace, the envoy of His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Kingdom of the Netherlands; Nuzhat Shamin Khan, Deputy Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, a number of senior civil and military officials, representatives of official bodies and the private sector, a number of Ambassadors of countries accredited to Netherlands as well as representatives of the International Court of Justice and the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
