Foreign Minister meets Chair of Yemen Presidential Leadership Council

Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, met this morning with Dr Rashad Mohammed al Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of the Republic of Yemen.

The meeting took place at the United Nations headquarters in New York, on the sidelines of the seventy-eighth session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting discussed developments in the effort to enabling and sustaining a truce in Yemen, and how to enhance confidence and constructive dialogue between all the Yemeni parties and forces.

In this context, Sayyid Badr and Dr Alimi affirmed their support for the efforts made towards ending the war and entering into a comprehensive political process that meets the aspirations of the Yemeni people in achieving security, stability and peace to allow for reconstruction, development and prosperity.

Sayyid Badr also said Oman welcomed the positive discussions that took place recently in Riyadh, which continued the efforts to reach a comprehensive solution.

Dr Alimi said he appreciated the support and efforts of the Government of the Sultanate of Oman in this regard.
