Foreign Minister heads Oman delegation to Baghdad Cooperation Conference
On His Majesty's service, Oman's Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, headed the delegation of the Sultanate of Oman to the second Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership. The Conference was held in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in the presence of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan; Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic and Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq.
The conference aims to enhance cooperation with the brotherly Republic of Iraq, to stand by it in facing challenges, to consolidate security and stability, combat terrorism, and support its efforts in achieving economic development and reconstruction.
In his speech Sayyid Badr spoke of the importance of the conference in exchanging views and consultation on the overall challenges facing the region and the world to achieve the desired positive cooperation between countries. He stressed the solidarity and support of the Sultanate of Oman with the brotherly Republic of Iraq.
The Minister also spoke of the importance of cooperation on climate change issues and Oman's efforts within the framework of its national strategy to combat climate change and work to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
Sayyid Badr also held a number of meetings with heads of participating delegations from brotherly and friendly countries.
